Restoration of Draškovič Manor continues
The complex monument restoration of the Draškovič manor house in Čachtice is financed by the Trenčín Region from its own budget and from the resources of the European Economic Area (EEA) Financial Mechanism. After the reconstruction, the manor house will serve not only for the presentation of history, but it will also offer 21st century services.
Draškovič Manor was declared a cultural monument in 1963. Its premises were mainly used for museum activities. The region decided to modernise it to preserve the value of the monument and the current museum expositions. "I think that the reconstruction of the manor house will significantly contribute to the promotion of tourism in Čachtice. A tourist information centre, a cultural and recreational centre, a café, and several interesting exhibitions will be created in the premises of this historical monument. The construction works are going well and according to schedule," said the Chairman of the Trenčín Region Jaroslav Baška. At present, plaster and floor structures are being demolished in the mansion, the masonry has been dehumidified, wiring, central heating, air conditioning, static masonry modifications, restoration works, and subfloor layers of floors have been carried out.
The project Revitalisation of the Draškovič Manor in Čachtice was successful in the 1st call for applications under the programme Cultural Entrepreneurship, Cultural Heritage, and Cultural Cooperation. It was one of 19 successful projects out of a total of 66 applications submitted.
